Communications Officer

Salary £33,699 – £36,363 pro rata
Part-time 22 hours per week | Permanent

Are you a talented communicator who knows how to bring messages to life, engage audiences and build trust through clear, impactful communication?

We're looking for a Communications Officer to join our team and help deliver high-quality internal and external communications that support our customers, colleagues and communities across Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation at a pivotal time and help shape how we communicate during a period of transformation and growth.

What You'll Be Doing

Creating engaging content for digital, print and social media channels.
Writing news stories, articles, briefings and campaign materials.
Supporting internal communications that keep colleagues informed and engaged.
Promoting services, projects and achievements across the organisation.
Working with managers and teams to develop clear and effective communication plans.
Monitoring communication performance and identifying opportunities to increase engagement.

What We're Looking For

Experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience creating content for websites, newsletters and social media.
A creative, proactive approach and a passion for delivering great customer-focused communications.
