Full job description

Job Overview
Specialist Group are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry and joinery, with a strong focus on bespoke craftmanship and assembly. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring all work meets safety standards and client specifications. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about joinery to develop their career within a reputable organisation.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings to produce custom, high quality products
Cut, shape and finish timber components to specifications
Ensure all assembled items meet high standards, including sanding and finishing work for painting or varnishing
Perform heavy lifting of materials safely to support construction activities
Conduct construction painting where required to prepare surfaces for finishing
Support plumbing, masonry, and electrical teams as needed on-site
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to adhere to health and safety regulations
Demonstrate a good understanding of joinery materials including past experience working with laminates, veneers and solids

Requirements

Proven experience in assembly, carpentry, and joinery work
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
Good understanding of health and safety procedures within production environments
Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are advantageous
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
