Precept IT is seeking an experienced and highly capable Technical Services Manager to support the delivery of technical services across helpdesk, projects, onboarding, Microsoft 365, networking, and telephony solutions.
This is a senior technical role combining escalations, infrastructure projects, client onboarding, solution design, and technical consultancy. The successful candidate will act as a key technical escalation point while also supporting project delivery, quoting, and client-facing technical discussions.
The role suits someone who enjoys variety, can operate under pressure, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats across support, projects, and technical pre-sales.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Escalations & Support
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex support issues
- Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, networking, endpoint, and infrastructure problems
- Support engineers with technical guidance and best practice
- Ensure client issues are fully resolved and communicated clearly
- Assist with major incidents and operational troubleshooting
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services
- Manage Microsoft 365 tenant environments and licensing
- Support tenant migrations and onboarding projects
- Assist with SharePoint and OneDrive migrations
- Configure and support Exchange Online, Teams, and related services
- Review licensing and identify optimisation opportunities
Projects & Technical Delivery
- Deliver and support infrastructure and onboarding projects
- Assist with firewall, VPN, WiFi, and switching deployments
- Support server and cloud migration activities
- Coordinate technical changes with internal teams and clients
- Ensure smooth onboarding and transition of new clients
Telephony & VoIP
- Design and quote telephony and hosted VoIP solutions
- Support Teams telephony and direct routing solutions
- Analyse call usage and recommend suitable plans
- Work with suppliers and carriers on provisioning and support
Quoting & Solution Design
- Prepare and review technical quotations
- Scope practical solutions based on client requirements
- Maintain awareness of margins and pricing accuracy
- Support business development and pre-sales discussions where required
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Liaise with vendors and distribution partners
- Validate technical and commercial information before client delivery
- Escalate supplier issues and manage technical communications
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation
- Promote technical standards and consistency
- Assist with process improvement and operational maturity
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Experience supporting Exchange Online and SharePoint
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, VPNs, DNS, and firewalls
- Experience with VoIP and hosted telephony platforms
- Strong troubleshooting and escalation handling skills
- Experience working within an MSP environment
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Desirable
- Experience with Ubiquiti / UniFi environments
- Experience with Bitdefender, Acronis, or RMM platforms
- Microsoft certifications
- Experience with Teams Voice / Direct Routing
- Experience preparing technical quotations or pre-sales support
