Full job description

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/ Mot tester to join our dynamic team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience with various tools and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive technology and dedicated to delivering high-quality service.

Duties

Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
Diagnose issues through the use of diagnostic equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems effectively
Mot Testing
Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain detailed records of all work performed for each vehicle
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly

Experience

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar automotive repair role
Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems, and electrical components within vehicles
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various vehicle types
Ability to perform equipment repair with precision and attention to detail
Experience in assembly work is desirable but not essential
Prior exposure to customer service environments is advantageous
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in physically demanding conditions
