Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their culinary skills and gaining valuable experience within a dynamic food service setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support catering operations by preparing ingredients and assisting with event setups
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, including utensils, work surfaces, and storage spaces
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
Help with inventory management by organising stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
Support cooking activities as directed by senior kitchen staff, including basic cooking tasks when required
Assist with washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and waste disposal to uphold health standards

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Flexibility to adapt to various tasks within the kitchen setting
Basic understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
