The Role
We are seeking an ambitious, professional and dedicated Operational Officer to lead and develop the work of promoting Welsh‑medium education and ensuring the effective implementation of the Siarter Iaith and Cymraeg Campus (Welsh Language Charter) frameworks across the county.
The postholder will:
Develop and strengthen multi‑agency partnerships to secure sustainable progress in promoting Welsh‑medium education and Welsh‑medium experiences
Lead the implementation of the Siarter Iaith and Cymraeg Campus, including planning, promotion, professional learning, sharing practice and award validation
Design and deliver targeted programmes to promote Welsh‑medium education and Welsh language experiences in schools and communities
Coordinate relevant budgets and ensure effective use of resources
Produce evidence‑based impact reports for senior officers, elected members and Welsh Government
Support the implementation of the Corporate Welsh Language Promotion Strategy
Promote the use and development of Welsh among staff within the Education and Leisure Department
Work with early years, health and post‑16 providers to strengthen Welsh‑medium pathways
Chair and lead the Welsh in Education Strategic Plan (WESP) Outcome 5 Drive Team, ensuring strong governance and clear accountability
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an individual with:
A strong understanding of the Siarter Iaith, Cymraeg Campus and Welsh‑medium education
Excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills
Experience of leading projects, partnerships and language initiatives
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decisions
Experience of producing reports, facilitating meetings and delivering training
Excellent bilingual skills (Welsh and English – Level 5)
