Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Garage Door Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related systems. Duties
- Install new garage doors, including fitting tracks, springs, rollers, and openers according to manufacturer specifications and schematics
- Conduct repairs on existing garage doors, including replacing damaged components and adjusting mechanisms for optimal operation
- Measure openings accurately to ensure proper fit of garage doors and associated hardware
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively during installation and repair processes
- Interpret instructions to complete installations accurately
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on garage door systems to ensure safety and functionality
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs and provide professional advice on products and solutions
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in construction-related trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, or plastering is advantageous
- Familiarity with electrical systems related to garage door openers or automation is preferred
- Competence in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) safely
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions accurately
- Experience with welding or fabrication techniques is beneficial but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Holds a clean, full UK Driver's Licence.
