The role:
Our Landscape Team is seeking a confident and motivated Landscape Architect with specialist expertise in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) to join our growing team. If you enjoy the analytical side of landscape architecture just as much as the creative, and you want to help shape some of the UK’s most significant resilience, infrastructure, energy, and development projects, this role will suit you perfectly.
As part of the Landscape Architecture team, you will work on a wide range of projects across the UK, including renewable energy, residential and mixed-use development, infrastructure, flood and coastal resilience schemes, and wider environmental projects.
Subject to experience level, your role will involve:
· Supporting the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) and related technical reports in line with GLVIA3, with a focus on high quality written and graphical outputs
· Undertaking site appraisal, photography and baseline analysis to a high technical standard
· Overseeing production of high-quality visualisations, photomontages, ZTVs and supporting graphics
· Keeping up to date with best practice, emerging guidance and relevant landscape policy
· Working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines including planning, engineering, hydrology, ecology, heritage, planning and environmental assessment.
· Contributing to landscape design, mitigation strategies and masterplanning
· Managing day to day project delivery, including small budgets, programmes and dealing with client communication
· Supporting and organising workloads for junior staff and contributing to team development
· Attending and contributing to client meetings, site visits and stakeholder engagement
· Supporting the preparation of tenders and contributing to business development activities
Qualifications:
· Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent
· Postgraduate Diploma / Master’s in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent
· Demonstrable professional experience evidencing strong LVIA expertise
Essential attributes for the role:
· Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), working towards Chartership or looking to enrol on the P2C
· Established track record in supporting, co-authoring or authoring LVIAs and LVIA related assessments
· Experience delivering LVIAs for renewable energy schemes, residential and mixed-use developments
· Experience in Landscape Assessment and Appraisal in sensitive, complex or constrained environments
· Strong working knowledge and confident application of GLVIA3
· Fluent spoken English with excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills
· Experience and understanding of the production of visualisations, photomontages, ZTVs and supporting graphics
· Ability to manage and organise junior staff workloads and project tasks
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assessments and deadlines
· Positive, proactive and motivated professional attitude and a commitment to delivering robust, evidence-based work
Desirable attributes for the role:
· Experience in developments related to water, infrastructure or environmental resilience
· An understanding of GIS software for mapping and baseline analysis’
· A broad understanding of related environmental disciplines’
· Experience contributing to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), exposure to Townscape and Seascape Assessment’
· Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with clients’
· Ability to articulate complex landscape issues clearly to clients, colleagues and stakeholders’
· Collaborative attitude to working and the ability to develop and manage effective relationships internally and externally’
