About the Role
Gatwick Construction is seeking a motivated Data & Reporting Developer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in improving how data, reporting and business systems support the organisation.
As the business continues to develop its digital capabilities, you will help streamline processes, improve reporting, automate routine tasks and provide valuable insights that support informed decision-making.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions, integrating information from multiple systems and producing dashboards and reports for both internal teams and external clients.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will help turn operational requirements into practical solutions that improve efficiency, reporting and service delivery.
This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career professional with experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence or software development who is looking to develop their skills further while taking ownership of data, reporting and business improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python-based applications, reporting tools and business systems.
- Assist with the development and improvement of web-based applications that support internal operations and client services.
- Build and maintain processes that collect, organise and integrate data from a range of internal and external sources.
- Support the maintenance and development of the Company's databases, ensuring data is accurate, secure and easily accessible.
- Help maintain automated workflows and reporting processes to ensure information is available when needed.
- Develop and improve client-facing reports, dashboards and business applications.
- Create and maintain dashboards that provide meaningful information on operational performance, key performance indicators (KPIs) and service delivery.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for both internal teams and external clients.
- Work with colleagues across the business to understand reporting requirements and develop practical reporting solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automate routine tasks and make better use of business data.
- Support projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing manual administration and enhancing business processes.
- Assist with the integration of external systems and applications to ensure information flows effectively throughout the business.
- Investigate and resolve issues relating to reports, databases, applications and data processes.
- Provide support with the maintenance of servers, business systems and development environments.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Assist in testing, documenting and continuously improving systems and processes.
- Support and comply with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS), including quality, environmental, health & safety and information security requirements.

About You
Essential
- Experience in a data, reporting, business intelligence or systems development role.
- Good working knowledge of Python and experience developing reporting or business applications.
- Experience working with data integration, automation or ETL processes.
- Strong SQL skills and experience using PostgreSQL or similar database systems.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience producing business reports, KPI dashboards and performance information.
- Understanding of operational reporting and performance measurement.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business.
Desirable
- Experience developing Flask-based web applications.
- Experience using workflow automation or orchestration tools such as Dagster.
- Knowledge of cloud-hosted systems and data services.
- Experience working within an ISO certified business environment.
- Experience supporting business improvement, process automation or digital development projects.
