Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team in. The successful candidate will be responsible for precision welding and fabrication tasks, primarily utilising TIG welding techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving sheet metal and mechanical assembly, contributing to high-quality manufacturing processes. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of welding principles, fabrication methods, and mechanical knowledge, with a keen eye for detail and safety. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to craftsmanship and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Perform TIG welding on various materials including aluminium and stainless steel.
Fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to precise specifications.
Work with sheet metal and other materials to create or repair parts according to engineering drawings and technical instructions.
Assist in the assembly of fabricated components, ensuring proper fit and finish.
Use basic math skills to measure, cut, and align materials accurately.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Inspect finished work for quality assurance, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.

Skills

Proven experience in TIG welding with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety procedures.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly processes and material handling.
Familiarity with sheet metal work and basic fabrication methods.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring, cutting, and welding tasks.
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and layout work.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality control during fabrication processes.
