Materials Laboratory Technician

Location: CTS - , East Kilbride, G74 5EX

Salary: £10.85 - £12.71 ph

Hours: 40 hours per week

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team based at East Kilbride. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of laboratory tests, assist in maintaining quality standards, and ensure the smooth running of laboratory operations. Whether you're starting your career or building on experience, we offer the chance to grow in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry: Accurately input test results and ensure data integrity.
Laboratory Testing: Perform various soil and concrete tests while following strict quality procedures.
Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality department to arrange calibrations and report any equipment issues.
Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of laboratory practice, cleanliness, and safety procedures.
Teamwork & Independence: Work effectively as part of a team, with the initiative to carry out tasks independently.
UKAS Audits: Assist with audits and ensure in-house testing meets turnaround time expectations.
General Lab Duties: Perform any other tasks as assigned by your senior or lab manager.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn, reliable, and has great attention to detail. Your ability to work with both independence and as part of a team will ensure success in this role.

Experience & Skills Required:

Education: GCSE level or above with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Experience in Geotechnical & Construction Materials Testing is an advantage.
Good oral, written, and numeracy skills.
Familiarity with safe working practices in a laboratory setting.
Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Excel.
Strong observational skills and an eye for detail.
Physically fit to handle the manual aspects of the role, such as carrying and moving samples.
