What you'll do
For this role, you will be working as crucial part of a front-line library service, providing directed support for learning to all College students, both face to face and online. You will be regularly facilitating both planned and independent learning opportunities, so that students can develop lifelong learning, research and study skills. You will also be developing library collections and services to concrete teaching and learning throughout the college, as well as performing routine administrative duties effectively and efficiently.
The role is based across one or two of our libraries across our College Campuses (depending on service needs) where you will;
Assist in and contribute to the smooth delivery of a large college, library service, which operates across several sites and campuses,
Ensure that our libraries support teaching and learning across the college, which serve as central hubs for learning, research, and knowledge dissemination,
Practice excellent service standards, ensuring user needs are met,
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, within the library (with Leads) and cross-departmentally,
Help to mentor new staff members and support work experience students, as required,
Contribute to the upkeep of sustainable practices across the service,
Be flexible to reflect the needs of the service, including being able to cover absences and work across sites where needed,
Take part in any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post as it evolves in line with College development.
Good communication and organisational skills are also needed in this role, which will require the developing of positive working relationships with students and staff and the ability to respond to situations effectively.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a Learning Facilitator to join the College’s Learning Centre & Libraries team. This permanent post is working on a 0.7 contract, 3.5 days per week, within our working week of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
