Established in 1961 and operating across Barking and Rush Green campuses, we support thousands of learners and apprentices each year to develop the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Job Coach, you'll provide personalised support to young people throughout their Supported Internship journey and beyond, helping them gain the confidence, employability skills and workplace experience needed to secure long-term employment. You'll work closely with employers, families and support services to create positive outcomes for every learner. Please note that this vacancy is a fixed-term contract for the duration of c9 months.

Key responsibilities include:

Deliver tailored job coaching within host businesses and follow-on employment settings using Training through Systematic Instruction (TSI) methodology.
Support interns to develop workplace skills including communication, travel training, interview preparation, workplace behaviours and independence.
Build strong relationships with employers, helping to create inclusive workplaces and natural support networks.
Work collaboratively with families, carers, employers and external agencies to overcome barriers to employment.
Support interns with job searching, workplace adjustments, Access to Work applications and progression into sustained employment.
Maintain accurate learner records, support plans, progress reviews and funding documentation.
Contribute to Education, Health and Care (EHC) annual reviews and provide formal reports where required.
Deliver RARPA-based learning, reinforce curriculum content and support learner assessment where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a compassionate, proactive and highly organised individual who is passionate about helping young people with SEND achieve successful employment outcomes.

You will ideally have:

GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or Level 2 equivalent.
Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Experience within coaching, training, education or supported employment.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work effectively with employers, families and external agencies.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with experience maintaining accurate learner records.
Good IT skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
A sound understanding of SEND, learning support and inclusive employment practices.
A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and promoting learner wellbeing.
A training or coaching qualification, TSI certification and a full driving licence would be advantageous.
