At DAVSS (Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Services), our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
Every year, they help hundreds of adults and children affected by domestic abuse rebuild their lives. We're now looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to lead and develop our volunteer programme, ensuring every volunteer feels supported, valued and equipped to make a real difference.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow volunteering across our organisation. Whether supporting our Support Hub, Recovery & Prevention services or Support to Court team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring volunteers are confident, safe and empowered to deliver outstanding support.

About the role
You'll take the lead on every stage of the volunteer journey - from recruitment and induction through to supervision, development and recognition.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll ensure volunteers are recruited safely, trained effectively and supported to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed services.
You'll also help strengthen DAVSS by developing a sustainable volunteer programme that enables us to reach more survivors while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and quality.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
- Recruit, interview and onboard new volunteers using safer recruitment practices.
- Deliver engaging volunteer inductions and coordinate ongoing training.
- Support, supervise and motivate volunteers throughout their journey with DAVSS.
- Coordinate volunteer rotas across our services.
- Promote volunteer wellbeing and provide regular guidance and support.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and professional boundaries are always maintained.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and training information.
- Gather volunteer feedback and help improve our volunteer programme.
- Work collaboratively with staff across the organisation to maximise volunteer impact.
- Help create a positive, inclusive and rewarding volunteering culture.
About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable and passionate about supporting others.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience coordinating volunteers or staff.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence supporting and motivating people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- An understanding of safeguarding and safe working practices.

Additional information
- This role will occasionally require evening or weekend working.
- All staff attend at least two DAVSS events each year.
- Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references and safer recruitment procedures.
