Full job description

The Finch Hatton is looking for a full-time Sous to join our busy kitchen. We aim to provide good, wholesome food made with quality ingredients that are ethically, responsibly and, where possible, locally sourced.

The main responsibilities of a Sous chef include; preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to meet our high standards here at The Finch, aiding in the training of any commis working with you, helping the Head Chef to develop new dishes and menus, ensuring that the kitchen team are working to high standards of food hygiene and following the rules of health and safety, and monitoring portion and waste control.

The successful applicant should; have experience of working in a professional kitchen, be able to work well both independently and as part of a team, have excellent time management skills, have a keen eye for presentation, be able to remain calm under pressure, organised, and able to delegate tasks appropriately.

Hours of work will be between 37 and 45 hours a week, on a changing weekly rota.

Requirements; 2 year experience in a professional kitchen at a similar level.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
