Job Specification – Designer
Kit for Kids (part of One for Fun Ltd) supply children’s furniture and educational products into the schools and nursery sector, supplying both domestic and international markets. One for Fun has been in the toy and gift market for over 45 years and has a wealth of experience working with international suppliers and customers alike. One for Fun’s headquarters are in Glasgow but Kit for Kids operates out of a satellite office in Hadlow, Kent.
We are looking to recruit a Designer to join our small, friendly team in Hadlow, Kent. The successful candidate will work as part of the Product Team working alongside our senior designer and product manager within Kit for Kids and One for Fun ltd.
The full time (Kent based) role is for smart working, you will need to be in the office for at least 3 days per week with the flexibility to work the remaining days from home.
Responsibilities
· To assist in ALL aspects of design within the company.
· To understand project requirements, with a creative talent to solve problems.
· Pitch creative ideas and collaborate with other team members, with the opportunity to be guided and work with professionals in the industry.
· Maintain our brand style guides to ensure visual consistency across the educational industry.
· Produce Marketing material such as: In-house and customer brochures and flyers, social media content, exhibition stand graphics, website banners, maintaining Kit for Kids Website
· Confidently liaise with suppliers to procure samples, help highlight/rectify any design inconsistencies, and ensure all products designed and produced meet Kit for Kids standards.
· To conduct and presenting research – to ensure designs solve real user problems within the education sector and uncover any gaps within the market.
Key Skills Requirement
· Must have a creative background with attention to detail from either a design degree or equivalent designer role.
· Experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, illustrator, indesign, PDF) is a MUST, photography skills are a bonus but not essential.
· Microsoft Office
· Use a mac computer
· Keen willingness to learn on the job
· Good time management and organisational skills
· A creative ability to design product from concept and see it through to spec and production.
· Ability to work well on their own and within a team.
· Show a keen interest within the educational industry and its teaching/learning requirements.

Job Type:
Full-time, permanent
Monday to Friday (8.30am – 5pm) minimum of 3 days office based.
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience
On-site parking
A minimum of one year design experience
A portfolio MUST be submitted upon application for the role. Applications that do not include a portfolio will not be considered.
Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
