The Role:
The School of Architecture, Art and Design at the University of Portsmouth is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Interior Architecture and Design on a fixed-term basis for one year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative individual to contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses within Interior Architecture and Design. The role will involve teaching, assessment, student support, module leadership and contribution to curriculum development within a creative studio-based environment.

Applicants should have relevant professional and/or academic experience within Interior Architecture and Design together with excellent communication and organisational skills. A commitment to inclusive teaching, student experience and collaborative working is essential.

This post is advertised as full-time; however, applications for part-time or job-share working will also be considered.

Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.

The interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 13 July 2026

This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027.

Salary Information:

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
