Job Summary:
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Research and Development (R&D) Chemist to join our skincare manufacturing team, specialising in targeted skincare solutions for people of colour. This role involves developing and refining formulations that cater to specific dermatological needs, ensuring products are effective, safe, and compliant with all industry standards. While continuously revising and improving existing formulations, the R&D Chemist will play a key role in bringing scientifically driven skincare concepts from idea to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise skincare formulations tailored for people of colour, focusing on efficacy, safety, and skin health.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, stability tests, and efficacy studies on new and existing products.
- Evaluate raw materials, ensuring they meet quality specifications and are suitable for targeted skin concerns.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive laboratory records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee QC and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and production, to align product development with business goals.
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Provide scientific insights and recommendations to support product claims and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cosmetic or personal care product development, preferably in targeted skincare.
- Strong understanding of formulation science, ingredient functionality, and skin biology.
- Knowledge of cosmetic regulations and safety assessment procedures.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and report preparation.

Pay: £42,000.00-£43,200.00 per year
