Job Summary
Under the direction and management of the GL11 Clinical Team Leader, to carry a client caseload and work in accord with GL11 Counselling Service policies and procedures.

1. Main Duties of the role
To effectively manage and prioritise a counselling caseload of allocated clients for short-term therapeutic intervention, maintain accurate service records on support provided and client progress, with full regard to safeguarding and data protection requirements.
To undertake regular supervision with the in-house GL11 supervisor, covering client work and clinical management and attend the regular team meetings / training sessions.
To work at all times in ways which respect, enable and empower individuals to make informed choices in their lives;
Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post.

Person Criteria
Essential
Experience
Minimum of 1-year post-qualification supervised counselling experience,
Experience of counselling remotely via telephone and video link.
Knowledge/Understanding
Mental health and presenting issue understandings to assess a wide range of client presentations,
Be a member of BACP, UKCP or equivalent.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication skills (written & spoken),
IT skills – proficient in the use of Microsoft packages and Office 365,
Well organized,
Ability to motivate, enthuse and work co-operatively with team members,
Hold a current driving licence and have access to transport.
Qualifications
Level 4/5 Diploma or Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling or Psychotherapy.
Desirable
Experience of working with volunteers and paid staff in a counselling agency setting, ideally in the charitable sector,
Experience of short-term counselling.
Experience of counselling more challenging areas of mental distress.
BACP or equivalent accreditation, or a willingness to pursue this.
On-going training,
Relevant CPD.
