We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fitter to join our growing engineering team at our modern facility in Barham, Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a small, dedicated team specialising in the refurbishment and manufacture of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic components. The role offers varied and interesting work, ranging from one-off bespoke repairs to small production runs, meaning no two days are the same.
The successful candidate will carry out MIG welding and general fabrication work on hydraulic cylinder components including steel bars and tubes, alongside fitting, stripping, inspecting, and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders and associated equipment. You will also be responsible for inspecting the quality of your own work and contributing positively within a skilled engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding and fabrication of hydraulic cylinder components
- Repair, manufacture, strip, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders
- Work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Operate workshop machinery and engineering equipment
- Inspect and maintain high standards of workmanship and quality
- Work independently and as part of a small engineering team
Requirements
- Previous welding and fitting/engineering experience essential
- Experience with MIG welding
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical engineering skills
- Ability to work confidently on your own initiative
- Hydraulic cylinder experience preferred but not essential
- TIG welding experience desirable but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
