Role Description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / Forklift/ Telehandler

Driver to support the storage and distribution of utility pipeline products, including pipes, fittings, valves, and related materials. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient handling, loading, and unloading of stock in a busy yard environment, ensuring high standards of safety and organisation.

Key Responsibilities

 Operate forklifts/ telehandlers safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move utility pipeline products.

 Assist with receiving, checking, and storing incoming deliveries.

 Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.

 Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard at all times.

 Report any damages, stock discrepancies, or safety concerns to the Yard Manager.

 Ensure products are handled carefully to avoid damage and meet quality standards.

 Support with regular stock counts and inventory management tasks.

 Work closely with drivers and other yard staff to ensure efficient logistics and dispatches.

 Follow our health and safety guidelines in all areas of work.

Qualifications & Skills

 Valid license - Counterbalance B1 is essential but will work towards B3

 Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction supply environment preferred.

 Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely.

 Good awareness of health and safety practices.

 Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team.

 Basic understanding of stock control and order processing desirable.

Working Conditions

 This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

 Physically demanding, including manual handling and operating machinery.

 Standard hours (Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 5.00 pm) with potential for overtime or weekend work as required by operational needs.

 There are potential requirements for 24/7 emergency call outs which are paid in addition to the standard remuneration.
