Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi, and have a proven track record in high-quality food preparation within a professional kitchen environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to delivering authentic and exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in accordance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station, including sanitising work surfaces and utensils regularly
Assist in meal preparation for other Japanese dishes as required, supporting overall kitchen operations
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment
Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specialising in Japanese cuisine
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques related to sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes
Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices within a professional kitchen setting
Previous experience working in a restaurant environment with fast-paced service demands
Familiarity with serving protocols and customer interaction is advantageous but not essential
