As one of three founding Medical Secretaries, you will play a vital role in supporting consultants, coordinating patient pathways and helping to establish an exceptional patient experience from day one. This is a unique opportunity to join a new team, contribute to the successful launch of the centre and make a real difference to patients at every stage of their treatment journey.
As a Medical Secretary, you will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to one or more consultants, ensuring the smooth coordination of clinics, appointments and patient pathways. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, consultants and healthcare professionals, you will help ensure patients receive timely, efficient and compassionate support throughout their care journey.
What You'll Do
- Manage consultant diaries and support the smooth running of clinics.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals and diagnostic results.
- Prepare and distribute accurate clinic correspondence and medical documentation.
- Ensure referral letters are processed promptly to support timely patient access to consultations and treatment.
- Act as a key point of contact for patients, consultants and external healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and support the efficient progression of patient pathways.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the centre to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
- Support the successful launch and ongoing operation of the new Leeds centre.
What You'll Have
- Previous experience in a Medical Secretary, Healthcare Administrator or similar role.
- Experience managing diaries, schedules and appointment bookings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and confident telephone manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- Audio typing skills or equivalent keyboard skills would be advantageous.
