CAHSS / School of Health in Social Science / Centre for Psychological Therapies and Hope Park Counselling Centre
Full-time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term: 31 st July 2027 (Post is available from June 2026)
The Opportunity:
The School of Health in Social Science is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Receptionist to provide reception support for the Centre for Psychological Therapies and Hope Park Counselling Centre, the School’s in-house post-graduate psychological therapies and counselling training and research Centres.
The postholder will provide a full reception service and contribute to the smooth day to day running across both services. A key part of the role will be to assist the Operations Team by taking responsibility for client enquiries, managing the waiting areas, and completing some basic administrative tasks. The post-holder will be the first point of contact by phone and face to face for clients of both services.
1 FTE - 35 hours
Monday – Thursday – 11.45am – 8.00pm (7.25 hours plus unpaid 1 hour break)
Friday – 10.00am – 4.30pm (6 hours plus unpaid 30-minute break)
A job share arrangement may be considered.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Ability to learn new systems including the Centres’ bespoke Database.
- Accuracy and ability to prioritise tasks within a routine.
- Ability to apply and understand relevant standard procedures and policies.
- Flexible approach to duties and willingness to learn.
Ability to communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, students, clients and members of the public and to provide a warm, friendly front of house, reflective of the ethos of Centre for Psychological Therapies and Hope Park Counselling Centre.
