Established in 1796, Cockburns of Leith has proudly supplied great wines and spirits across the UK for over two centuries. Today, we continue this tradition through our Edinburgh city centre boutique wine store & Cockburns website.

Job Overview

On offer is an exciting hybrid role promoting our growing on-line wine sales and managing our media outlets.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a creative and commercially aware thinker with the ability to design engaging, eye catching visuals and measure the success of promotional activity.

You will also contribute to delivering exceptional customer service in our city centre wine store, where you will advise on retail wine sales to ensure a memorable customer experience.

We are open 6 days and this role operates on a flexible weekly rota, working five days per week including some rotational weekend work in line with the needs of the business.

Digital Media

● To create visually eye-catching marketing campaigns and website offers.

● Create contents and drive engagement with the Cockburns brand to increase product sales.

● You possess advanced IT skills and have experience with WooCommerce, WordPress, Mailchimp and Web-site maintenance.

● Focus on social media marketing channels and content creation - Website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.

● Systematically analyse and report the results of your web offers, and digital marketing efforts with recommendations to the General Manager.

Retail Advisor

● You must have a good working knowledge of all wines and spirits sold in the shop.

● Be able to competently advise customers on a suitable choice of products.

● Ensure the store is well stocked with products, visually merchandised and priced accurately.

● Process transactions through EPOS system (both sales & payments) and payments on card machine.

● Ability to lift and move full boxes of wines and spirits as required or requested.

● On occasions you may be asked to work out-with your normal contracted hours to assist with in-in-house or external tasting events.

Training / Role Development

● WSET levels 1 & 2 to be provided

● In-house product training & IT training provided

Salary & package

● Competitive salary £28,500 per annum

● Annual pay review

● Discretionary annual bonus

● Auto-enrolment contributory pension

● Holidays – 20 days plus 8 statutory days

● Staff discount
