Area Support Manager

Location: Sites across both Glasgow and Edinburgh

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Cleaning Manager Support plays a key role in supporting the Area Operations Manager with the day-to-day management and operational performance of a portfolio of client sites. Acting as a vital link between frontline cleaning teams and management, the role focuses on maintaining service standards, supporting colleagues in the field, ensuring compliance, delivering training, and promoting operational excellence across multiple locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cleaning professional looking to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership, people management, and operational skills within a growing business. The position provides hands-on exposure to site management, recruitment, training, quality assurance, compliance, and customer service, creating a strong foundation for progression into Area Manager and other operational leadership roles. Reporting:

Reporting directly to the AOM (Area Operations Manager)

Main Duties of the Position:

Cover cleaning operatives as and when required
Site visits for spot checking
Stock check and control
Site folders compliance
Train new cleaning Operatives and re-train / refresh training when necessary
Inform and train cleaners on new tasks or products
Follow up complaints with the cleaning operatives
Not announced site visits (surprise visits)
Support and assist cleaners with their queries
Make sure cleaners are all the time in uniform and presentable
Assist the Area Manager with relevant information for wages process/timesheets
Support the Area Manager with recruitment
Support the Area manager with stock ordering
Check if correct tasks and site specifics are being followed at all times
Holiday Cover for the Area Manager

Desired Skills and Experience:

A positive hands-on approach with the ability to multitask.
Organised with a 'can do' attitude
Maintain consistency under pressure
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to travel regularly between multiple client sites across the region. A driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial for this role.
Candidates must be able to satisfy client security vetting requirements, which may include residency checks and background screening.
