We are currently seeking experienced Venue Supervisors to join our team for the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.
Job Overview
As Venue Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the venue manager in the day-to-day operations of one of our Edinburgh venues. You will supervise a team of ushers, ensuring they turn shows around smoothly, and uphold high standards of customer service.
You should be able to delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring proper coverage and efficient task allocation as well as communicating updates and providing feedback.
You should lead ushers during performances and events to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience; making sure audiences are welcomed and greeted, tickets scanned efficiently, and queuing and seating arrangements organised effectively.
You should set an example of exceptional customer service, interacting with audiences, fostering a positive atmosphere, and addressing any inquiries or issues. Handle any customer complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism. Proactively identify and report any issues related to the venue, equipment, or audience behaviour.
You will work as part of a team and collaborate with the Venue Manager and technical staff to resolve issues promptly and help them to implement preventative measures to minimize potential problems during performances. Assist the venue manager in ensuring that ushers are knowledgeable about safety procedures and emergency protocols and help to foster a safe and secure environment for all.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in the hospitality, entertainment, or events industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with audiences and staff.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address issues proactively.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering outstanding service.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency procedures in a venue setting.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
Job Types: Temporary, Fixed term contract
Pay: £13.71 per hour
