Shifts: Flexible across mornings and evenings, Monday–Sunday

About the Role
Embo Deli are looking for a hardworking, organised, and dedicated individual to take on the role of Catering Manager at Curl Edinburgh where Embo Deli are contracted to run all catering operations. This is a hands-on management position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our catering facility, leading a small team of staff, and supporting food preparation and service.
Working at a curling club offers a unique hospitality experience. Our catering facility operates as a café, restaurant, and bar all at once, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and strong organisational skills. Customer demand often comes in waves due to the nature of the sport, so understanding and managing the flow of the facility is essential.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with any level of hospitality experience looking to take the next step into management and develop leadership skills. Full training will be provided. You will also be under the direction of the management team at Curl Edinburgh and be required to work with the team to facilitate various events throughout the season.
You do not need to be a trained chef to apply. We are looking for someone comfortable working with food, who enjoys cooking and can learn quickly. Kitchen responsibilities include preparing breakfast rolls, toasties, soups, and scones during the day, while evening food service involves preparing fryer items and serving fresh meals delivered by Embo.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the catering facility
- Create and manage staff rotas
- Lead, manage, and train a small team of staff
- Handle booking enquiries and manage the diary system
- Order and monitor stock levels
- Support food preparation and kitchen operations
- Liaise with Curl Edinburgh Staff to understand weekly events and provide catering for competitions and events
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment
- Adapt to changing customer demand and busy service periods
Required Skills & Qualities
- Ability to prepare barista coffee and pour pints
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working with food and within a kitchen environment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Quick learner with a proactive attitude
Preferred Skills & Experience

- Previous hospitality experience
