Job Introduction
We’re looking for a confident and enthusiastic Event Sales Executive to join our Heritage Portfolio team in Edinburgh.
Personality will be a big part of succeeding in this role. We need someone with plenty of energy and initiative, someone who is comfortable making decisions, keeping on top of deadlines and spotting opportunities without always waiting to be asked. You’ll be joining a fast-moving environment where no two enquiries are quite the same, so being adaptable, organised and able to think on your feet will be essential.
You’ll have the opportunity to get to know Edinburgh’s events market, understand what clients are looking for and find new ways to show why Heritage Portfolio is the right partner for their event. It is important that you care about more than simply securing the booking; you’ll also want to make sure that what has been promised can be delivered brilliantly, giving clients every reason to return.
This could be a great next step for someone from either event sales or hospitality operations who understands what goes into creating a successful event. Above all, we’re looking for a self-motivated go-getter who enjoys meeting people, winning business and being part of a supportive team.
What You'll Do:
-
Manage incoming event enquiries from initial contact through to confirmation, responding promptly and keeping clients informed throughout.
-
Proactively generate new business by researching the Edinburgh market, identifying opportunities and building relationships with key accounts.
-
Conduct venue show-rounds and client meetings, presenting suitable event spaces, packages and catering options.
-
Prepare accurate proposals and event costings, ensuring pricing meets commercial targets and agreed profit margins.
-
Maximise revenue through upselling, negotiation and recommending additional services that add value to the client’s event.
-
Work closely with the Event Delivery team to ensure everything promised during the sales process can be delivered successfully.
-
Maintain accurate event information, bookings and pipeline activity using THYNK
-
Manage contracts, deposits and prepayments, following up on outstanding balances and helping to minimise aged debt.
What You Bring:
-
Excellent business relationship skills
-
Proven success in achieving sales targets
-
Proven success in a sales role and negotiation skill
-
Confident, ambitious and passionate with the ability to use own initiative
-
Ability to build strong client relationships and understand their needs
-
Excellent people skills
-
Excellent communication verbal and written skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and deliver measurable sales targets
-
Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to prioritise various job demands
