We are recruiting a Production Chef (Cook School & Events) to support the food production side of Stocks at Bowhouse, including cookery school classes, deli preparation, and event food.
This is a hands-on, food-focused role within a creative cookery school and food destination based on a working farm. The role sits at the intersection of prep kitchen, teaching support, and small-scale food production.
The ideal candidate will be organised, calm, experienced in professional kitchens, and excited by seasonal, ingredient-led cooking in a more creative, less pressurised environment than a traditional restaurant kitchen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prep and production for cookery school classes
- Food preparation for events and guest chef collaborations
- Support deli production (batch cooking, preserves, seasonal items)
- Maintain high standards of organisation, cleanliness and consistency
- Work with seasonal, local produce from Bowhouse and surrounding suppliers
- Assist in maintaining smooth kitchen operations for classes and events
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILEEssential:
- Previous professional kitchen experience (CDP or strong commis level)
- Strong prep discipline and consistency
- Calm, reliable and organised under pressure
- Interest in seasonal, ingredient-led cooking
Desirable:
- Interest in teaching, cookery school environment or events food
- Experience with batch production / deli-style food
- Local to East Neuk or willing to commute to Bowhouse
- Interest in fermentation, baking, preserving or similar production work
This is not a traditional restaurant role.

HOURS & STRUCTURE
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Suggested structure:
- 3 shifts per week (6–7 hours each)
or
- 2 core prep days + 1 flexible/event-based day
- Primarily daytime hours
- Very occasional evening/event support only
Pay: £14.50-£16.00 per hour
