ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Accounts/office Administrator to join us, to cover maternity leave.
This is a varied, hands-on role that sits at the heart of our busy office. You will take ownership of day-to-day office operations, lead the day-to-day finance function, and provide direct support to both the Transport Manager and Managing Director. It would suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives on responsibility and takes pride in keeping a business running smoothly.
Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance & Accounts
– Process sales and purchase invoicing accurately and on time.
– Manage supplier payments and maintain strong, positive supplier relationships.
– Oversee company bank accounts and allocate incoming payments.
– Reconcile accounts, post journals and maintain accurate financial records.
– Run weekly and monthly payroll.
– Administer workplace pension contributions.
– Manage credit control activities and chase outstanding debts.
Office Duties
– Answer incoming telephone calls and process customer orders accurately.
– Provide administrative support to the Transport Manager/drivers as required.
– Assist the Managing Director with a range of administrative and operational tasks.
– Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
ABOUT YOU
Essential
– Previous experience as an Office Administrator and Accounts Administrator or in a similar role.
– Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
– Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
– Experience of payroll processing.
– Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
– Proactive, reliable and comfortable using your own initiative.
– Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
– Xero or accounting software experience.
– Working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll is preferred but not required.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
