Due to continued growth, we are looking for a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused Flooring Sales Consultant to run our showroom in Haddington.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a passion for interiors and home improvement, and wants to develop a career within a successful and growing flooring business.
The Role
As a Flooring Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for helping customers find the perfect flooring solution for their home or commercial project. You will guide customers through the sales process, from initial enquiry and product selection through to quotation, ordering, and after-sales support.
You will play a key role in delivering the exceptional customer service that The Elite Flooring Company is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming customers into the showroom and providing a first-class customer experience
- Advising customers on carpets, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), laminate, engineered wood, vinyl, and other flooring products
- Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable flooring solutions based on style, budget, and practical needs
- Preparing quotations and processing customer orders accurately
- Following up quotations and generating sales opportunities
- Managing customer enquiries in person, over the phone, via email, and through online channels
- Maintaining showroom displays, product samples, and merchandising standards
- Supporting the coordination of surveys, deliveries, and installations
- Building long-term relationships with homeowners, landlords, interior designers, and trade customers
- Maintaining accurate customer records and sales activity within company systems
- Taking Payments.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Carpet & Flooring Experience.
- Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or a customer-facing role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, friendly, and confident manner
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer literacy and experience using office software
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable
- Previous experience in flooring.
- Experience working towards sales targets and KPIs
- Knowledge of carpet, LVT, laminate, wood flooring, or related products
- Experience using CRM or sales management systems
Pay: £14.00-£23.00 per hour
