Overview
We're looking for a skilled and reliable handyperson to join our team on a self-employed basis. The ideal candidate has a broad range of practical skills and can confidently tackle maintenance, repair, and small renovation jobs across residential and commercial properties. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys problem-solving, and wants varied work without being tied to a fixed schedule.
What you'll be doing
- General handyperson work in domestic and commercial properties across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Central Scotland
- Flatpack furniture assembly (IKEA and similar)
- TV mounting, shelving, picture hanging, curtain poles and blinds
- Minor plumbing repairs (taps, toilet seats, waste traps, silicone work)
- Minor carpentry and joinery (door adjustments, skirting, trim, locks and handles)
- Painting, filling, caulking and general decorating touch-ups
- Light bathroom and kitchen fitting tasks
- Building and repairing sheds and decking
Desirable
- Scribing in filler panels
- Moving sockets
- Installing lights and other small electrical works
What we're looking for
- Proven hands-on experience as a handyperson, joiner, multi-trader, or similar
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Professional, tidy, and well-presented — you'll be working in customers' homes
- Good communication: arrives on time, keeps the customer informed, leaves the job clean
