Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead delivery across complex central government digital programmes.
You will work closely with senior civil servants, programme teams, delivery partners, and multidisciplinary agile teams to ensure delivery is well planned, coordinated, and continuously improving.

You will act as a recognised leader in agile and lean delivery practices, helping teams and stakeholders navigate complexity while maintaining delivery momentum across large-scale government programmes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead delivery across complex central government digital programmes and multi-team environments

Collaborate with senior civil servants, programme teams, and delivery stakeholders to align delivery with wider business objectives

Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery governance across multiple workstreams

Drive agile and lean delivery practices across teams and programmes
-
Coach teams and stakeholders on continuous improvement and effective delivery approaches
-
Support programme planning, forecasting, reporting, and governance activities
-
Coordinate cross-service and cross-team dependencies to ensure successful delivery outcomes
-
Identify and improve inefficient organisational processes and ways of working

Facilitate collaboration between multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders

Provide leadership during complex delivery challenges and unblock teams effectively
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Significant experience delivering digital programmes within UK central government environments
-
Proven experience engaging with civil servant programme teams and operating within government governance structures

Demonstrable track record working as a Senior Delivery Manager (G7 level or equivalent)

Strong understanding of agile and lean delivery methodologies

Experience managing complex risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple teams

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary agile delivery teams

Strong planning, coordination, and delivery leadership capabilities
Desirable Experience

Experience delivering or supporting cyber security programmes

Experience working across both local government and central government environments

Familiarity with the Government Digital & Data (GDaD) framework
