Early years Teaching Assistant
Sense Education are recruiting for an inclusive and caring Specialist School in Whitehaven. We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role can either be part time or full time and is ideal for someone with a nurturing, patient nature and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting children through play-based learning and structured activities
- Help to create a safe, fun and engaging environment where children feel happy and supported
- Encouraging social and emotional development through positive interactions
- Support the teacher in providing learning opportunities to ensure all children reach their potential
- Support pupils with SEND or complex needs
- Support with personal care
- Working 1-1 or in small group settings
The Ideal candidate:
- Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting(school, tutoring, childcare or similar)
- Put children's safety and wellbeing first
- Be highly motivated and committed
- Teaching Assistant qualifications or care background

Qualifications & Requirements
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (term time only)
- Full-time and part-time options available
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
