Job purpose:
To ensure accurate and timely publication of key financial reports, data, and metrics
Main responsibilities:
· Produce daily sales reports and other weekly sales reports
· Calculate, control and post journals, prepayments, and accruals
· Producing monthly management accounts
· Completion of national statistics and other surveys as and when required
· Providing other financial intelligence
· Balance sheet reconciliations and back-up schedules appropriately
· Analyse financial information to assist business profitability
· Assist with the statutory audit
· Support preparation of budget
· Reconciliation of internal sales and holding accounts
· Other ad hoc duties and reports as and when required or directed
· Produce and provide tax related information
Essential qualifications and experience
· Honours degree or other level 6 qualification
· AAT level 4 or equivalent, such as part-qualification of ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or relevant financial degree. Support for further studies / qualifications would be offered to the right candidate.
· Minimum of 3 year’s experience in Finance
· High level of all round IT technical skills, including intermediate/advanced Excel skills
· Commitment to quality and attention to detail
· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
· Inquisitiveness and a desire to understand the root cause issues,
· Critical thinker, should know how to analyse and solve the problem
· Organised, good at time management.
Desirable attributes
· Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
· Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Motivation to learn and develop themselves and their career, and progress to taking on further responsibilities
· Good understanding of accounting principles and balance sheet
Work hours
Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week); some flexibility may be required during busy periods such as year-end and budgets.
