Job Title: Restaurant Supervisor / Bartender

Job Purpose
To support the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel’s restaurant and bar, delivering an exceptional guest experience in line with 4‑star standards. This dual-role position combines supervisory responsibilities with hands-on bar service, ensuring high-quality food and beverage delivery in a welcoming and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory & Restaurant Duties
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring service runs smoothly and efficiently
- Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house team members
- Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and attentive, high-quality service
- Coordinate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and event service
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally
- Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene (HACCP compliance)
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor stock levels and support ordering processes
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and company procedures
Bartending & Bar Service Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to a high standard
- Deliver engaging, friendly, and professional service at the bar and restaurant
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar area
- Demonstrate good knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and local Scottish produce (including whisky)
- Take orders, process payments accurately, and manage tabs effectively
- Ensure responsible alcohol service in line with licensing regulations
- Promote and upsell food, drinks, and seasonal specials
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, or hotel environment
- Experience in a supervisory or senior front-of-house role preferred
- Strong leadership and teamworking skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Good knowledge of food and beverage service, including bar operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desirable
- Experience in a 4-star or luxury hotel environment
- Knowledge of Scottish cuisine, local produce, and whisky
