Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our Production department. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating day-to-day production activities, supervising a team of welders/operators/programmers, and ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.
The successful candidate will bring strong supervisory skills, technical know-how, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within a fast-paced machining environment.
Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly)
- Week 1: Monday–Thursday 05:45–13:45, Friday 05:45–12:45
- Week 2: Monday–Thursday 14:00–22:00, Friday 13:00–20:00
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team to deliver departmental objectives and meet KPIs.
- Oversee machining workshop or welding workshop, ensuring smooth handovers between shifts.
- Monitor quality standards to ensure compliance with company specifications and customer requirements.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
- Identify and report production issues, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies to senior management.
- Conduct daily checks, toolbox talks, and maintain accurate production records.
- Ensure scanning systems and IT tools are used correctly for tracking production progress.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
- Participate in special projects or assist other departments when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in production operations.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Experience using manufacturing IT systems and scanning software.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet production deadlines.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in a supervisory capacity.
