Midland Masonry is a well respected and established heritage masonry company. With expertise in the conservation, restoration, structural repairs, cleaning and refurbishment of historical buildings and landmarks.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator/QS to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, profitable bids..
The Successful Candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to)
- Full appraisal of tender documents.
- Carry out site visits and surveys.
- Pricing tenders/bill of quantities including labour, plant and material costings.
- Delivering presentations at client interview.
- Pricing variations on live projects.
- Maintaining and creating excellent working relationships with clients.
- Preparing applications/valuations for payment and liaising with clients.
- Manage all commercial financial aspects of multiple projects from enquiry to completion.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, contracts, and related documentation for future reference.
- Working closely with rest of team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of five years experience in the building trade and preferably have restoration experience and knowledge.
- Knowledge of all types of masonry conservation and restoration desirable but not essential.
- Ability to understand and work from architectural drawings to produce detailed estimates.
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure and meet simultaneous deadlines.
- Proficient in Blubeam and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving licence essential.
- Applicants must have a "Can Do" attitude, be polite and diplomatic.
- A recognised qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or related disciplines is desirable but not essential.
Salary/Package
- Salary based on existing experience.
- Company vehicle negotiable.
- Based from our Market Drayton Office, working Monday to Friday.
- 22 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
- Workplace Pension.
- Full time permanent contract with 6 months probation period.
