A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Technician (Maintenance) working within the Plant Maintenance, Facilities & Safety Department at Sharp Manufacturing Company of the UK.
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, it is your responsibility to support the installation, repair and maintenance of facilities and machinery. You will work collaboratively with other maintenance employees, ensuring smooth operations within the maintenance operations of the SUKM facility. A key aspect of your role is providing essential support to the Senior Supervisor and Facilities and Health & Safety Manager, maintaining compliance with maintenance and safety standards while performing your responsibilities.
This role includes a FLT Allowance of £481, Technical Allowance Up to £2116 and Attendance Bonus Up to £750.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to equipment breakdowns, production lines, plant and machinery, diagnose and repair applying fault finding and repair skills with minimum downtime to operations.
- Communicate with other departments, providing regular updates on repair timelines and potential impacts.
- Assist with developing planned maintenance schedules for routine inspections on equipment, building and facility inspections optimising time and resources effectively.
- Conduct routine equipment, building and facility inspections to ensure ongoing functionality and compliance, report maintenance needs, repairs and potential issues.
- Supervise and support contractors/tradesmen (e.g. electricians, plumbers, engineers) during installations, repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
- Contribute to projects coordination (e.g. cost reductions initiatives and operational improvements).
- Maintain strict adherence to quality, environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Provide support the production department, helping achieve efficiency and operational targets.
- Support the Senior Supervisor to achieve department objectives, KPI’s and strategic plans.
- Step in for the Senior Maintenance Supervisor when required.
- Work as an integral part of all the company call out plan procedures.
- Ensure all work is undertaken to the highest standards, following company policies and procedures, while upholding health and safety protocols.
- Operate forklift truck and lifting equipment safely, ensuring proper use of PPE and adherence to safety requirements.

Experience:
- Experience in a technical maintenance environment
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment (desirable)
- 3+ years’ experience in a Senior Technician role (desirable)

- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across teams
- Strong organizational skills, capable of meeting strict deadlines
