Addhire Self Drive Ltd is a well-established, family-run vehicle rental business founded in 1985. Based in Ellesmere Port, we serve customers across the Wirral, Cheshire, and surrounding areas.

We operate a fleet of cars, vans, minibuses, and campervans, and pride ourselves on delivering a reliable, friendly, and personal service.

The Role

We are looking for a confident and hands-on Rental Operations Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our rental desk and fleet operations.

This is a key role within the business where you’ll oversee daily activity, support a small team, and ensure everything runs smoothly—from bookings and customer service to vehicle availability and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the rental desk
Manage bookings, walk-ins, and customer enquiries efficiently
Ensure smooth vehicle scheduling, availability, and turnaround
Make on-the-spot decisions to resolve operational issues

Customer Service

Deliver a high-quality customer experience from enquiry to vehicle return
Handle customer queries, complaints, and rental issues confidently
Manage damage reports, insurance claims, and breakdown situations

Team Supervision

Supervise and support a small team of rental staff and valeters
Allocate daily tasks and ensure work is completed to a high standard
Lead by example with a proactive, hands-on approach

Fleet Coordination

Oversee vehicle preparation, cleaning, and readiness for hire
Coordinate servicing, MOTs, repairs, and compliance checks
Liaise with garages and suppliers to maintain fleet reliability

Administration & Compliance

Ensure all rental documentation, payments, and records are accurate
Maintain driver checks, insurance records, and vehicle inspections
Support the Directors with general operational reporting

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in vehicle rental, fleet, or automotive environment (preferred)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident decision-maker with a hands-on approach
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
IT literate (Microsoft Office; Prohire desirable)
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Desirable

Local knowledge (Wirral, Chester, Ellesmere Port)
Experience with campervan or leisure hire
Some sales or business development experience

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (rota basis, every other weekend)
Flexibility required during busy periods
