Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Rendering & Machine Rendering Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying render systems, operating rendering machinery, and ensuring high-quality finishes on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of rendering materials and techniques, and the ability to safely operate rendering equipment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare walls and surfaces for rendering, including cleaning, repairing, and priming substrates.

* Operate and maintain machine rendering equipment to apply render efficiently and consistently.

* Mix and apply rendering materials according to project specifications and manufacturer guidelines.

* Apply different render systems, including monocouche, silicone, cement, lime, and insulated render systems.

* Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor operational issues when required.

* Ensure smooth, high-quality finishes that meet company and client expectations.

* Work closely with site supervisors, contractors, and team members to complete projects on schedule.

* Follow health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of materials and equipment.

* Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

* Complete work in line with quality standards, project drawings, and technical requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in rendering and/or machine rendering preferred.

* Knowledge of rendering systems, materials, and application methods.

* Ability to operate rendering machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.

* Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors and at heights when required.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Good problem-solving skills and time management.

* Valid CSCS card (preferred, depending on location/project requirements).

* Full driving licence (preferred).

Desirable Qualifications

* Experience with spray render systems and external wall insulation (EWI).

* Relevant construction or trade qualifications.

* Health & safety training certifications.

Working Conditions

* Site-based role working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

* May involve lifting materials, standing for long periods, and working at height.

* Flexibility to travel between project locations when required.
