Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Roofers Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting skilled roofers with various tasks on-site, ensuring the smooth progress of roofing projects. Duties
- Assist roofers with loading and unloading materials using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers
- Support in the installation of roofing materials in accordance with schematics and project specifications
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, shingles, and metal sheets
- Operate basic construction tools including saws, drills, and welding equipment when required
- Aid in fabricating and cutting materials to specified dimensions using carpentry and masonry skills
- Assist with plumbing or masonry tasks as directed by supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing debris and securing tools and equipment
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge of roofing, construction, or related trades is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to understand schematics and technical drawings is beneficial
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques preferred
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely
- Basic understanding of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or masonry work is a plus
- Good organisational skills with attention to safety procedures
- Willingness to learn new skills within the roofing trade
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in outdoor conditions
