About Us
Established in 2021, Ascot Royals Swimming Club is one of the fastest-growing competitive swimming clubs in the area. Operating from two sites in Ascot and one in Englefield Green, we are committed to developing swimmers of all abilities in a positive, ambitious, and supportive environment.
As our membership continues to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Swimming Coach to join our coaching team and help develop the next generation of competitive swimmers.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching swimmers aged 10–12 years, delivering engaging and progressive training sessions that support technical development, fitness, race skills, and a lifelong enjoyment of swimming.
You will work under the supervision and guidance of the Head Coach and become an integral part of our expanding coaching team.
The role also includes attending a minimum of four swimming competitions each year to support club swimmers. All competition attendance is paid.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality coaching sessions for swimmers aged 10–12 years.
- Support the development of swimmers in line with the club's coaching programme.
- Provide technical instruction, motivation, and constructive feedback.
- Assist swimmers in achieving their personal and competitive goals.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive training environment.
- Work closely with the Head Coach and other coaching staff.
- Attend and support swimmers at a minimum of four competitions per year.
- Promote the values and culture of Ascot Royals Swimming Club.
Essential Requirements
- Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (minimum requirement).
- Experience teaching or coaching children in a swimming environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to swimmer development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Swim England Level 1 Assistant Coach qualification.
- Swim England Level 2 Coach qualification.
- Experience coaching competitive swimmers.
- Experience supporting swimmers at competitions and galas.
- Knowledge of athlete development pathways and competitive swimming.
