Full time: 31 and 15 minutes per week (Part time negotiable)
Part time: 25.75 hours per week or negotiable at interview
Hours: 6.15 hours per day
Times: 09:45 – 16:00 (inclusive of paid working lunch)
Salary: £14.81 per hour gross £91.06 Daily
Specialist teacher pay: Negotiable and variable depending on experience
Start Date: September 01st 2026, (there are a few options to start sooner, discussed at interview)
The Opportunity
We have an exciting and progressive opportunity for a Support Facilitator / Teaching Assistant to join our team at The School of Professional Development and Education.

This role is ideal for individuals keen to develop their skills in support, development and non mainstream education, with opportunities to progress into leading sessions and developing specialisms. There is potential to grow into a qualified facilitator and take on subject leadership in your area of interest.
We are also actively seeking:
- Teaching Assistants looking for a new environment and progression opportunity;
- Qualified Teachers seeking a change of setting or transition into specialist SEND education (specialist teacher pay is negotiable depending on experience and responsibility); and
- Individuals from care, education, training, or support backgrounds.
This position is based in the School of PDE Day Centre Provision, and all staff report to the Centre Manager. You will support the delivery of a range of learning sessions as well as community engagement activities.
This role may suit someone with previous care experience or experience in teaching/training, although this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities and Requirements
- Support the Lead Facilitator in the classroom;
- Deliver dedicated, positive and committed support to learners;
- Attend briefings, meetings, and training sessions as required;
- Promote and support the values of The School of PDE;
- Follow all policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and equal opportunities;
- Maintain confidentiality at all times;
- Report safeguarding concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Centre Manager;
- Respect the rights, dignity, and independence of learners;
- Work as part of a team with staff and volunteers;
- Communicate effectively with the Centre Manager regarding concerns or feedback; and
- Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.
