SCHEME LOCATION: Athelney School, Athelney Street, London, SE6 3LD

TIMES REQUIRED: 10:55am–3:05pm except for the initial day which starts 10:30am

Activity/Sports Lead

Even if you lack the formal qualifications, a genuine passion for working with children can make you an ideal candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

Registration keeping of attendees
Leading fun and engaging activities for children aged 5 to 13
Ensuring adherence to safeguarding, behaviour, and activity policies
Delivering pre-prepared meals at lunch and packing away
Set-up and set-down of activities
Resolving student conflicts in line with the behaviour policy
Organising and preparing activity resources for children's participation
Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
Ensuring all students are involved
Reaching out to parents that have not collected their child

Here are some things that will help you stand out:

PGCSE/PGCSE NQT Primary/Secondary in any subject
Level 2/3 childcare or Sports Coaching qualification, or relevant experience
Valid Paediatric First Aid certification
Supervisory and Management experience
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Food hygiene experience

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in our care, so all team members must have a clean Enhanced DBS checks. You must be at least 17 years old.

Enhanced DBS

An enhanced DBS check is required as part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013, and 2020.
