CN Seeds Ltd is one of the UK's leading suppliers of herb, baby leaf and oriental vegetable seeds to professional growers worldwide. Based at our headquarters in Pymoor, near Ely, we carry out plant breeding, seed processing, storage and distribution activities serving customers across the UK and internationally.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Warehouse & Dispatch Operative to join our Seed Operations team.
Location & Hours
Our headquarters are located in Pymoor, near Ely. Due to the rural location of our site and limited public transport links, applicants should ensure they can reliably travel to and from work.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday. Standard working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, although some flexibility may occasionally be required during busy periods. Overtime opportunities may also be available at certain times of the year.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse operations, stock control, dispatch and seed processing activities. You will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time, whilst also supporting the preparation of seed for sale through cleaning, treatment and processing activities.
The role involves both physical warehouse work and the use of our Microsoft Dynamics Business Central stock management system. Full training will be provided on our specialist seed processing equipment and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
- Processing warehouse transactions using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- Recording stock movements and maintaining accurate stock records
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Organising warehouse storage areas and maintaining high standards of housekeeping
- Assisting with stock counts and inventory control
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided where required)
- Cleaning, grading and preparing seed for sale using specialist processing equipment
- Applying seed treatments in accordance with company procedures and quality standards
- Supporting seed processing and operational activities as required
- Working safely and following company quality and health & safety procedures
Essential Requirements
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Basic computer skills and confidence using business software
- Good spoken and written English
- Ability to undertake manual handling duties, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 25kg
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse, dispatch, manufacturing or logistics experience
- Forklift truck licence or experience
- Experience using warehouse management, stock control or ERP systems
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central
- Experience processing customer orders and stock transactions within a computerised stock control system
