Stores & Operations Assistant
Chedburgh, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
£27,000 per year
Full-time | Permanent | 39 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 07:00–12:00

Join a Friendly, Specialist Manufacturing Team

We are a well-established, close-knit company specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality, customer-specific sensors used across a wide range of industries and applications.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and organised Stores & Operations Assistant to join our team in Chedburgh.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining stores, dispatch, administration, and customer support responsibilities. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within a supportive manufacturing environment.

The Role

As part of our team, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of stores, goods-in, dispatch, and order administration processes. You will work closely with production and office staff to keep operations running efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Booking in deliveries and checking goods received
Maintaining stores and stock areas to a high standard
Picking orders and preparing materials for production
Preparing invoices and dispatching customer orders
Entering customer orders into the system accurately
Communicating with customers regarding orders and deliveries
Supporting production activities when required

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable, and willing to learn. Previous experience in a stores, production, warehouse, or administrative role would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

You should have:

Good attention to detail
Basic computer skills and confidence using systems
Strong communication skills
A positive and flexible attitude
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
