Visitor and Mourners Support
- Assist mourners accessing the grounds.
- Help direct and manage vehicle parking.
- Maintain a respectful, professional, and compassionate approach to all visitors, funeral directors, stonemasons, and partner organisations.
Grounds and Garden Maintenance
- Grass cutting, strimming, mowing, edging, and leaf blowing.
- Hedge trimming and pruning.
- Planting, watering, weeding, dead-heading, and turf laying.
- Litter picking and removal of flowers, cards, balloons, and other waste.
- Emptying bins and general cleaning/sweeping.
- Fence repairs and path/paving maintenance.
- Removal of branches and unwanted growth.
- Application of weedkiller and pesticides.
Memorial and Grave Care
- Cleaning memorials and tidying graves.
- Preparing and maintaining Gardens of Remembrance and ashes plots.
- Assisting with witnessed and unwitnessed interments.
- Backfilling and restoring plots after interments.
Maintenance and Project Work
- Assist the Foreperson with repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Support projects such as clearing overgrown or neglected areas.
- Work alongside volunteers and organised groups on restoration and clearance activities.
Health, Safety, and Equipment
- Be responsible for issued equipment, supplies, and protective clothing.
- Follow health and safety procedures when using machinery and chemicals.
- Train and act as a First Aider when required.
- Participate in training and development.
Key Skills and Qualities Demonstrated
- Grounds maintenance and gardening experience.
- Ability to use landscaping and maintenance equipment safely.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Respectful customer service and communication skills.
- Teamwork and reliability.

Pay: From £15.38 per hour
