Full job description

Play Mandarin 玩中文 is looking for an energetic, passionate and caring Full-Time Mandarin Teacher to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone with experience teaching children aged 18 months to 11 years old in person. The ideal candidate will also have experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and preparing teaching materials.

This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic about early years and primary education, highly responsible, punctual, organised, and attentive to children’s learning and wellbeing. A warm personality, creativity, and plenty of patience are essential. Skills in singing, dancing, and leading interactive activities would be a strong advantage.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a team of educators who are passionate about creating engaging Mandarin learning experiences for children, while supporting continual professional growth in a positive team environment.

Working pattern

5 days per week
3 weekdays (Monday to Friday) and 2 weekend days
Probation period: 6 to 12 months

Requirements

Fluent in both Mandarin and English
Able to read and write both Traditional and Simplified Chinese
Experience teaching children in classroom settings
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The right to work in the UK
Chinese teaching qualifications or PGCE are desirable

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Mandarin lessons for children
Develop lesson plans and prepare teaching materials
Teach across different programmes, including:
weekend classes
one-to-one sessions
online lessons
holiday camps
weekend workshops
Support children’s learning and development in a positive classroom environment
Manage classes of up to 12 students
Communicate and collaborate with parents to support each child’s learning journey
Work closely with colleagues on curriculum planning and programme development

Additional information
Visa sponsorship may be considered for suitable candidates, subject to eligibility and performance.

Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
